the Supreme Court stayed the trial court’s order while the appeal moves forward. The court did indicate that it would order an expedited briefing and oral argument schedule due to the importance of the equity issue. This means that we should get some answers sooner rather than later.

This means that the block grant procedure will move forward for next year as adopted by the legislature. The trial court’s order that weighted enrollment be used will not be effective, at least for the 2015-16 year.

Again, this is all great news for kids in the past 4 days! It will get better as the appeal focuses further on the appropriate remedy. The 2016 legislative session should be interesting, to say the least.
